You may remember my closet full of wrapping paper (only a small testament to my love of paper goods). Â Inside that closet is a box full of stationery: greeting cards for all occasions, little handmade notebooks, gifts tags, etc. Â What it’s completely lacking is anything remotely as cool as these handmade string-tie envelopes! Â I love […]
Throw pillows can be a point of contention in the bedroom. Do you really need more pillows to decorate the bed than you do to actually sleep in it? Well, if you’re a pillow minimalist or live with someone who is, the long throw pillow may be the great compromise you’re looking for.Â

Back in 1977 a Sylvania 25″ color console TV would set you back a whopping $530. Adjust for inflation, that would cost us $1,840 today*. Ouch. Next time you see an old console TV, keep that in mind and then think of these makeovers. Cool blue and a center shelf make this makeover irresistible.
Last weekend my honey and I were rethinking the placement of our kitchen table. We turned it 180 degrees with one short end of its rectangular top very close to a wall. Seeing it there, I had a thought: Lamp. I ran and scrounged up a little ‘save for later’ lamp I had tucked in […]
After under-ordering the wallpaper for our little half bath a few years ago, I was super paranoid about not having enough when we put up this bold, colorful pattern in our guest room. Â Turns out, I completely over-ordered and now we have practically a whole roll sitting unused in a closet somewhere. Â I’ve been itching […]

Murphy bed. Hide a bed. When we hear those names we think, “Hidden in the wall,” right? Not so with these hidden beds, as they pop out from here, there and everywhere. Our first entry, pictured above, lowers just like an elevator. As the retailer notes, there’s no need to move any furniture when it’s time […]

Katie bought this black, stick, floor lamp from Target. She decided to glam it up with some very UNglamorous items, which included, among other things, a bunch of 2-liter Coke bottles and duct tape. Get ready, cuz this is gonna blow your mind….
There is a secret I’ve been hiding. It is large, and it is dirty, and might even be in violation of a few state and federal laws. But hiding it doesn’t make it any less real, so I’ve decided to just come out with it: This is my basement. And before you get any weird […]
Remember the plastic spoon rose? Turns out that is just the tip of the iceberg as far as spoon-crafting is concerned. Take for example these (dare I say?) gorgeous spoon pendent lights. Holes in spoons negate their intent, but they also take artist’s Daisuke Hirawa creation (pictured above) into
