I've been a vegetarian for over 13 years now, and there aren't many meat-eating rituals that I feel like I'm missing out on. I don't crave hamburgers, I don't really care for barbecuing, and carving a turkey isn't my style either. Free wishes, though...that's something I could use more of! This quick Thanksgiving decoration is as close to a wishbone as I'm getting, and after the holiday I'll be ripping a few in half so I can make a wish anyway.
With October upon us, now's the time to start thinking all things Halloween. And you know what springs to mind for me as the 31st draws near? All that sweet candy of course!
And while I sometimes leave my lollies in their store bought wrapping, it’s much more fun seeing the faces of trick or treaters when I dole out little bundles of treats specially packaged for the occasion. Which is where these treat bag toppers come into play! Use this free printable to package up your candy and wow the kiddos who come knocking at your door this Halloween.
- Printable Halloween treat bag toppers
- White cardstock
- Bone folder
- Craft knife
- Cellophane treat bags (the file is designed to fit bags that are 12cm/4.75 inches wide, but you can scale it to size)
Print the Halloween treat bag toppers onto white card.
With a ruler and bone folder, score across the centre of each treat bag topper where it says ‘fold here’.
Important note: When scoring, take care to avoid scoring across the ears on the black cat and bat treat bag toppers.
Cut out each of the treat bag toppers with a pair of scissors.
Using a craft knife, cut along the white 'v' lines that mark out the ears on the cat and bat treat bag toppers.
Fold each treat bag topper along the line you scored in Step 1. When you fold the cat and bat treat bag toppers, the ears should stick up as shown below.
Fill your cello bag with your favourite treats.
Place a treat bag topper over the open end of each cello bag and staple shut.
And that's all there is to it! As well as being fun for trick or treaters, these little parcels would make great favours for your guests if you're having a Halloween party this year.
Where is summer running off to in such a hurry? Even though I'm a bit sad to see another season come to a close, I'm quietly giddy about the return of autumn. I can't help myself, I'm just so in love with the season. Big scarves, chilly breeze, pumpkin-flavored everything... it's hands-down the best season ever. While there are still a few weeks remaining until fall is officially here, I've got just the project to start you transitioning. If you too are excited about hearing the crunch of leaves under your feet, here are some fall iPhone case designs that are free to print and easy to use.
Decorating a bathroom can be tricky business. Not only is wall mostly space occupied by unmovable objects (like towel racks, shelving, or the tub) making the space tricky to decorate, but the washroom is also the most humid room in the house! When it comes to hanging wall art, you have to find pieces that are either moisture-resistant (like metal or acrylic), or pieces that don't need to stand up to the test of time. This is where printable bathroom wall art comes in. Talk about non-committal decor! Here are two, free designs to choose from, or to hang as a pair.
As nursery trends change, the traditional pinks and blues are slowly being pushed out in favor of current, updated looks. Parents are experimenting more and more with bolder hues, playful patterns, or simply less of it all. It's easy to see why the minimal nursery look is gaining in popularity. There are fewer elements to worry about, there aren't any color-related gender-indicators (which makes styling ahead of time a breeze), and the color palette is almost non-existent. If you're looking to decorate a minimal nursery or want to give a gift to a no-fuss parent-to-be, you can craft this sweet planetary mobile quickly and easily.
I can't even begin tell you how much I want to go to Palm Springs one day. It's got everything I could ever want in a getaway - oodles of sunshine, poolside cocktails, canyons and hiking trails to explore - what's not to love?
And although it might be awhile before I get there (it's a long way away from where I am here in Australia), that doesn't stop me dreaming about all things related to summer holidays. Which is exactly how these...

While I don't consider myself much of a chef, I do have a few tried and true recipes that I need to hold on to. Previously, I was using the scraps-of-scribbed-paper-stuffed-in-a-cookbook method of organization (most of these scraps of paper were covered in various unidentifiable spills too - yikes!). Now, though, using these free printable recipe cards has definitely simplified life in the kitchen for me. All my recipes are in one place, the key ring makes them easy to rearrange and organize, and the plastic sleeves protect them from my clumsiness.
Weddings can be exciting, emotional, and/or stressful times for everybody involved - except for the younger guests. For them, the majority of the day is dull, dull, and duller. Sure, it's awesome when the cake gets cut, but little Johnny couldn't care less about the best man's speech. If you're planning an upcoming wedding and want to give the kids something extra to do during the quiet times, gather up some crayons and print a few off a few...
As a baker, crafter and all-around mess-maker, having a multitude of cleaners on hand at all times is a must. After a while, my cabinets became packed with various cleaners that I just didn't need, so I sought out a way to narrow them down, and better yet, I did it by making my own all-purpose cleaner using items around the house that will clean just about anything.
