We spend so much of our time in our kitchens, so shouldn't it be the most functional room of all?  Here are ten awesome tips and ideas to help make your kitchen the best it can be.   created at: 08/06/2012

1.  Martha suggests putting wire shelves in your refrigerator and cupboards to ensure your squish-able foods stay un-squished.

Great tips! I would be careful with the blackboard pain. One should always consider the life span of this type project. Applied incorrectly and you won't be happy in a year os two.

Large four-sort dividers, like from the Container Store, are wonderful for storing such things as cookie sheets and cutting boards on edge, making them easy to grab. Also, I use Command Hooks to hang vegetable and bottle brushes behind the sink cabinet door.

Great ideas here! Using the backs of cabinet doors is clever--chalkboard & hooks. I have giant tongs on hooks behind one door, but oddly enough, it never occurred to me to put other items there. duh. I made a little binder of my favorite, most frequently used recipes to eliminate cookbook clutter.
