While I’ve never been a fan of Halloween, I’ve always loved the Mexican holiday of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) that takes place from October 31st to November 2nd.

Having grown up thinking of death as a very sombre occasion, I find myself drawn to the beautifully joyous way the deceased are honoured in at this time of year in celebrations full of colour, vibrancy and positivity.

If you’re planning to decorate your house for Día de los Muertos, click through for some of my favourite Day of the Dead DIYs.
