I did mine on a magnetic white cork board. How do you make the magnets not slip once you hang it up??

i found my sheet metal and my magnets at home depot.  the magnets were about 2.57 per box which had 4 or 8 magnets in them depending on their size.  My sheet metal was 19.99 for a 24by 32.  which is a big piece.  I picked out fabric at JoAnnes Fabric.

Love it! Perfect project while I'm on maternity leave! Can't wait to get started.. Maybe I can come up with an idea to clear my husbands counter too.

I looked up the nearest scrap metal shop, drove down and told them I was crafting and what I was doing. First they thought the project was cool then they offfered to sell me whatever size I needed. I payed $10 for my sheet measured to fit my frame. It was way cheaper than Home Depot they wanted $10 for each sheet and I would have need 2x. Wouldn't hurt to look up your local scarp metal yard ;o)

Hey Alex. I didn't actually make this project, but I did something similar. I had the same problem in that I couldn't find flashing big enough to fit my frame. Ultimately, I hit up a machine shop I know for a scrap of sheetmetal that they cut to size.

BTW, someone at Home Depot recommended I paint a piece of wood with metal paint (which has tiny little shards of metal to make non-metal things magnetic). That did NOT work. Not magnetic enough!

Where did you go to get a piece of sheet metal? Home Depot didn't have. :-(
