If you’re anything like me, your pets are an important part of your family. So like the rest of the family, don’t they deserve their own Christmas stockings? If you know how to sew, you can easily make your pets their own personalized holiday stockings. Just don’t forget to stuff them full of their favorite treats and toys on Christmas.Â
For an extra touch, match the fabrics you use for these pet Christmas stockings to your pets, and embroider their names on the cuffs. Or use iron-on letters. Â
Materials
Â
- Faux fur fabric
- Felt
- Fabric scissors
- Sewing machine (optional)
- Needle
- Thread
- Regular scissors
- Sewing pins
- Pen

Step

Cut the paw template out, and place it on the main fabric, folded in half so it’s doubled. Pin in place, and cut out the paw shape with fabric scissors.
Â
Step

Â
Cut the paw pad shapes out from the main paper template, place them on the felt, and trace around them. Cut out from the felt. Also measure and cut out two rectangles from the felt, 9 1/2 by 3 inches, and 4 1/2 by 1/2 inch.Â

Â
Step

Pin the felt paw pads in place on the outside of one of the faux fur paws, and sew down with matching thread.

Â
Step

Pin the two fabric paws together, right sides in. Sew together with a 1/8-inch seam allowance, leaving the top open.Â
Step
Â

Sew the short ends of the larger felt rectangle together with a 1/8-inch seam allowance, creating a tube. With the stocking inside-out, place it around the top of the stocking with the seam down. Sew around the top perimenter.

Step

Turn the stocking right-side-out, and fold the top cuff down. Hand-sew the other felt rectangle to the top edge, to create a loop for hanging.

A pet stocking would also make a great gift for that person who adores their furry companion.Â
