I have an old wood ladder I was planning to use a a bookcase, similar to the one in #7. The part I have been struggling with is hanging it on the wall in such a way that the wall can bear the load of both the ladder and the books. Any suggestions?

I also like arranging my books by color...makes it hard to find a particular book sometimes, but it looks GORGEOUS!

one i've seen and really liked is turning your stairs into shelves using the space under each step. it's a great use of space, but the books would probably get kicked...
