Roundup: 15 Semi-Homemade Christmas Cookie/Treats

by on Dec 9, 2011

Some of us don’t have the time or the inclination to roll out cookie dough come Christmas time. If you fall in to that category I’m here to absolve you of any guilt you might be feeling. Stop it! Not all of us are Just Desserts contestant wannabes. SO, for this Christmas cookie/treat roundup, I found ideas that require MINIMAL work on our part as they start with store bought cookies, snacks and candies.

Starting at the top is Miss Candi Quik’s delightful vanilla-dipped peppermint pops

No word on how to make Sweetness Cakery’s dipped and decorated Oreos, but we can bet it’s pretty much the same as the first example.

Cookies and treats decorated like snowmen.

Here’s another Oreo pop idea from Angie, who shows us such things are pretty enough for gift-giving.

One last stop on the Oreo train, these snowmen and snowflake creations from The Decorated Cookie. Their creator’s makes them even easier for us to tackle as she starts with white fudge covered Oreos

Several cookies are decorated with blue icing and snow man faces.

Next on our semi-made journey are Nutter Butters. No tutorial for Cake Central’s reindeers, but, again, it’s pretty much the same as the Oreo ideas only using chocolate…right?

and Santas.

The peanut butter cookies with Santa faces sit in a row.

Proving ANY cookie can be dipped and decorated, check out these fancied-up fortune cookies:

Super simple are Madd Hatter’s Kitchen’s dipped sugar cookies. I can see maybe adding a dash of sprinkles for the holidays.

Chocolate-dipped Cookies

I found this turtle recipe awhile back and have made them several times. Just little pretzels, Rolos (yes, Rolos) and half a pecan. They are DEE-LISH. Walnuts on top are great too.

Remember the Hershey Kiss & mini Nutter Butter Acorns? I’m totally making some of these this Christmas for a take-along. They’re just so cute and pop-able.

Several chocolate cookie acorns are on a table.

Speaking of pretzels, dipped pretzel rods are always a crowd-pleaser.

Pretzels have been rolled around in white chocolate and sprinkles.

I’m going to have to take Amanda’s word for it that these Bugles dipped in white chocolate and topped with M & M’s are ‘to die for’.

Big old marshmallows dipped in white chocolate, rolled in sugar and impaled with a peppermint stick. Yowza.

And, finally, these white-chocolate dipped peppermint sticks might be perfect with a cup of hot cocoa.
