Any idea how the brass hooks got attached to the grater?

These are great!  I especially love the cheese grater idea - how clever to repurpose a dull cheese grater bound for the recycling bin.  Thanks for posting these :)

I have been building jewelry organizers for a while now and have had a lot success with it, i have several demos that I would be glad to send pics of while my site is under construction. Ive found that building custom to specification works best, the most successfull model so far has been a 6.5" x 18"  picture frame style using 4.5" molding as well as patern they would like to use.  Give me a shout and hope I can help 

Amy I bought our daughter a combination wall cabinet picture frame something like what Maven is talking about from Walmart a couple Christmases ago. She loves it. It's no longer available from them, but it looks something like THIS.

@Amy, that IS a problem. I'm experiencing it myself, actually. Maybe build a shallow cabinet for the back and hang a picture frame (with hinges) with glass on the front? Another thought I had was using an old medicine cabinet in some way. 

These are all totally cool. I'm especially fond of the picture frame type ones. Super cool. I just got gads of jewelry from Ispirada, and I really need a place to put it all. The ol' jewelry box is getting full. I think I'll do the frame+lace one...and if I can, the lampshade one. Awesome, thanks for the ideas!

OK here's my latest dilemma - I need a jewelry (well earring really) organizer that also protects them!  I want to keep my earrings tucked away because they are mostly sterling and getting tarnished very quickly.  However the dangly ones get tangled in a jewelry box, which is why they are currently on a little mini-tree thing on my dresser.  What can i buy/make to solve my problem!
