I’m getting married in July (to the good sport pictured in the photo above) and I desperately wanted to have a photo booth at our wedding. But the price of photo booth rentals was prohibitive, so of course I started brainstorming ways to DIY one instead. Click through to check out my simple solution. Â Â

The key to this photo booth is the Polaroid Snap. It has a timer setting, and also a space for a Micro SD card so you’ll have digital copies of all the photos that the guests have hard copies of. And the backdrop couldn’t be easier to make. Here’s what you’ll need:
Â
- Polaroid Snap camera
- Tripod
- Crepe paper streamers in three colors
- 6′ long piece of 1″ wide wood
- Hot glue gun with extra glue
- ScissorsÂ

Begin by cutting your crepe paper streamers. I would recommend cutting them to about 8′ long each, then you can always trim them later. Cut about a dozen of each of your three colors.

Use a hot glue gun to attach the top of each streamer to the wood. Alternate colors, and keep gluing until you get to the end. Cut more streamers if you run out. Trim the tops and bottoms of the streamers for a finished look. I used small nails on each end to attach my backdrop to the wall, but you could also use 3M adhesive strips since the whole thing probably only weighs a few pounds.

Set up your Polaroid on the tripod, and you’re ready to go! If your crowd isn’t familiar with the Snap, you might consider sticking little signs with arrows to the shutter and timer button so people know what to do.Â

Gather tons of colorful props and your friends will have hours of fun. And your furry friends can even get involved!Â
