Paper crafters know what a Cricut is, but for those of you who don’t know what it is, it’s a home electronic die-cutting machine that cuts paper in countless shapes to be used for card making and scrap-booking. When the company that makes it came out with something called the Cricut Cake ($218), Cricut junkies everywhere gasped. A personal die-cutting machine for fondant and gum paste?? Amazing.
Now, I’m not in the market for a CC, but I do linger over their display at the craft store, wondering just what kinds of marvelous things these babies could produce. So, I did what all bloggers do, I searched the internets for the most spectacular specimens of cakes decorated using the Cricut Cake out there. Just check these babies out and try not to be impressed!
The example pictured below was designed using a picture of fabric the maker found on the web.
I mean, seriously, how cute are these frogs?
Who doesn’t love monkeys?

These next three examples come from Carrie’s Cakes. If you live near Sandy, Utah, you can sign up for one of Carrie’s classes that will teach you how to make designs like these using a Cricut Cake.
As you can see, the Cricut Cake’s abilities can produce some pretty spectacular results. Looking for these examples has made me want one even more!
