Win a $100 Sherwin-Williams gift card and follow along as Emily Henderson helps make over the Curbly House

I have some incredibly exciting news to share with you today!

It's the home stretch of the Curbly House addition/renovation parade, and I'm thrilled to tell you we've hooked up with Sherwin-Williams and designer extraordinaire Emily Henderson to makeover four rooms in our house! Can you believe it? Emily Henderson! She's amazing and we can't wait to show you all the brilliance she's planning for our dining room, living and sun room, and master bedroom. Read on to learn more and find out how to win a $100 Sherwin-Williams gift card!

Bruno and I have fairly different tastes when it comes to design, but if you asked either of us which designer we would most love to work magic in our house, both of us would say, Emily Henderson. Working with her has been pinch-yourself amazing. If you haven't already visited her web site, you must go and read everything she has ever written. Doing so will teach you a zillion wonderful things about interior design and styling. Your eyes and your brain will thank you because of rooms like this:

And this:

Our plan to work with Emily has been in the works for quite some time (and proves I am indeed the world's best secret keeper). If the story was a fairy tale, Sherwin-Williams would be our fairy godmother because they are making it happen. With their help, and Emily's expertise, we'll be doing some serious DIY-ing and incorporating some gorgeous Sherwin-Williams paint colors throughout the process.

Big announcements like this are so much fun to share, but it's even sweeter because it's coupled with the chance to win a $100 gift card to Sherwin-Williams. Oh, the power of paint! It never ceases to amaze me how much a room changes through the use of color. Here's how you can win:

I would give the gift certificate to my DIY friends, who are renovating their kitchen. As artistic as they are, I'm sure they will find the perfect color at Sherman Williams.

Master Bedroom. Birthday present.

Krys on Sep 11, 2013:

I would paint the master bedroom.  We moved in 11 years ago, and still haven't had the money to fix up our room. :)

Living room. I live in a sea of Beige...carpet, furniture, slightly off white walls. I need color!

Sheri on Sep 10, 2013:

I would transfer the "country" look of my kitchen to more cottage. I have old cabinets that are painted a brick red, awful wall paper, a rough barnboard wainscoting, and brown carpet.

Mary on Sep 10, 2013:

Pick only one? Okay our dining room has termite damage near the window. It needs an overhaul as the baseboards crumbled. The bathroom has some bizarre peeling 70's wallpaper. The bedroom too has a feature wall of 70's wallpaper...eeny meeny miny.....dining room..more visibility.

I would love to be able to paint my bedroom.  At the present time the walls are a dull white with ugly streaks of old glue running from the top of the walls to the bottom from recently removing a border from around the top of the room....an ugly sight for sure!

The kids' playroom is in dire need of a change now that they're no longer little ones.  Thanks for the opportunity.

kelly.r on Sep 10, 2013:

I'd definitely redo my bedroom since, it's the same pale green it was when we moved in 3.5 years ago!

my bathroom is dastardly...help!

Ann on Sep 10, 2013:

I would love to paint my daughter's room a great tween color. The former homeowners used it for an office, it smells like smoke and is not a bad blue color, but needs to be covered up. Cleaning just isn't cutting it. A fresh coat of paint would be welcome! Thanks for doing this!

I would love to paint my daughters room - it's currently a darkish blue that smells like smoke. The former owners used it for an office. I've washed it numerous times, but a fresh coat of paint with a great color for a 9 year old girl would be great! Thanks for doing this! :)

My daughter and I just bought our first home and every room is either purple or brightblue. Dont get me wrong, I love color, but an entire room of purple i a little much for me :^)~ We love the Beatles, so we want to do a Beatles theme living room... Lots of different colors if you have seen the sgt. peppers album. I think it will turn out pretty cool!! So it would be cool to win, and would come in handy!!!

The kitchen for sure - the whole thing needs a make over so please choose me!!! Thanks in advance!!

Debbie on Sep 10, 2013:

I want to try a mural or stencil design on one wall in my living room and my entry.  This would be a great opportunity to try!

Adrienne on Sep 10, 2013:

Hi...I just moved to a place where the previous owners skimmed on some cheap white paint, which is see through in parts. I think it could use a nice second coat of some good quality paint by Sherwin Williams.

The teenage son's bedroom.  It doesn't reflect his age anymore!

Julie on Sep 10, 2013:

We need to paint the teenage son's bedroom.  It doesn't reflect his age any more.

Joy on Sep 10, 2013:

I would paint my bedroom. Just bought a new comforter, drapes, and rugs and now can see how badly it needs to be painted!
