Eye Candy: 7 Iron Beds for Every Style

Eye Candy: 7 Iron Beds for Every Style

There's no middle ground; it seems people love iron beds or don't. I fall in the former category, and although I don't have one, I do like to gather inspiration for the day I can talk Sweetie into loving them as much as I do. Until then, I must live vicariously through others.

We'll start with a traditional interpretation of the iron bed. This sweet cool blue and white bedroom has a lot going for it, except maybe that wing back chair on the left.

Another more traditional styling is Pottery Barn's Mendocino Bed. ($1,099-$1,299)

One way to make a traditional iron bed a little less traditional is painting it. Alisha painted hers blue.

This next one certainly puts a new spin on what any preconceived notions of what antique iron beds look like.

Anthropologies's Italian Campaign bed's canopy feels positively ethereal when draped in gauzy fabric. ($1,250-$1,898)

If you think iron beds can come across a bit feminine, take a look at this next one. The linear quality of the bed and the curvy chandelier is a cool juxtaposition. (I'm guessing the position of the two club chairs are for photographic reasons only.)

Room & Board's Architecture bed ($999) is another linear option with the addition of a canopy.
