Carpet tiles have been around for a while now, but there’s always been one limitation: they’re square! If you love the idea of utilizing this flexible floor covering in your home but want a playful dot instead of the standard square, you’re in luck. Check out how to make your own circular carpet tile rug below!
Tyler Goodro, one of our favorite bloggers and modern DIY guru, recently put together this tutorial for cutting a round rug from carpet tiles. Once you’ve done some preliminary measuring, it’s a pretty simple task. Here’s what you’ll need:
- carpet tiles (Tyler used tiles from Flor)
- box cutter
- L-shaped metal to use as your ‘cutting arm’
- cardboard boxes to use as a cutting surface/to protect your floors
