Before & After: A Complete Master Bath Makeover for $500!

Before & After: A Complete Master Bath Makeover for $500!

Bathroom renovations are one of those projects that can quickly blow any semblance of a budget straight out of the water.  The fact that this makeover cost a little over $500 is absolutely mind boggling - and just goes to show the impact ingenuity and the DIY spirit can have on your space and your budget!

Stephen and Meredith Heard set their original bathroom makeover budget at $1000 and by doing everything themselves, from the board and batten walls down to the striped shower curtain, managed to cut that in half.  A pretty spectacular feat, really!  Be sure to check out their blog Welcome to Heardmont for loads of pics, the full budget breakdown, and all the nitty gritty details!

The vanity came with our house and we painted it during our renovation. Here's a post on our blog about how we did it: http://welcometoheardmont.com/2011/03/master-bath-phase-4-updating-the-vanity/

i think this is absolutely beautiful!!!  Very creative!  It totally has a 1920's craftsman feel to it, which is a favorite of mine!  Stumbled across your blog and love it!!!  Thank you so much!

Jenn - The shower curtain was a DIY project (awesome, right?) inspired by this West Elm curtain.  You can check out the DIY shower curtain tutorial on Meredith's blog.
