You know those High End/Low End photos in magazines that illustrate how you can get a high end look for a lot less? Well, these very high end, artsy coffee table designs sold by Moss could be DIY-able for much much less. Granted, original designs are unbeatable, but what if you just need a statement making coffee table?
Above is a cast aluminum fruit box, by designer Andrea Salvetti, that sells for $2,695.00.
Next, we have the Styln’ Viper coffee table, designed by Johann Grawunder. It’s made with liquid, rubber painted wood and accomodates two flourescent bulbs. Now, this can be yours for $7500.00.
The concrete and wool Resilience coffee table, designed by Julia Lohman of the UK, is a bit more complicated in it’s autobiography. This one doesn’t even show a price, you have to ask.
The Other coffee table , designed by Ilse Crawford and constructed from MDF, steel feet and decorative mirror surfaces includes a hidden drawer done in a distinctive color. This beauty goes for $7025.00.
If the zigzag mirrored table is a little tony for you, why not settle on one of Ms. Crawford’s smaller mirrored tables for $4345.00. I can see fiddling around making one of these on a snowy day (with a box of about a million uniformly cut square mirrors).
And last, but not least, is another fruit box design by Andrea Salvetti. The cast and polished aluminum
crates can be used together to create statement making shelving. One small crate goes for $1415.00.
The practical thing about the aluminum fruit box designs is that they can be used outdoors.
