This might come as a surprise to those of you with entryways, but some people don’t have them. Oh, sure, there’s a door, but it might swing open right into a living area. Or worse yet, it might swing open right into a living area that’s carpeted. As someone who used to own a house with just this kind of arrangement (carpet and all), let me tell you, they’re irritating. No space for people to congregate as they enter and exit. No place for proper coat removal. And the carpet…the CARPET!! Ugh. So, for those WITH entries, here’s some inspiration. And for those of you without, here’s some to envy. (Me included, as my current ‘entry’ is a bit on the skimpy side, although there’s no carpet in sight. Thank goodness.)
Nothing skimpy about this entryway. The window above the door and celestial pendant add to its loftiness.
‘Minimal’ is the word for this next entryway. (And ‘dogs’.)
Also minimal but on the rustic side, this entry looks roomy enough for the entire fam.
Although a bit skimpier than those above, the crisp colors used in this cottage’s entry probably make it feel roomier than it is.
From simple to chic, this entry oozes that uptown feeling.
And, finally, a bright and welcoming entry that leans to the traditional.
