For the person who has everything or those nagging teenagers who ‘Just want cash, please!’ are these delightful-if I do say so myself-gift card and $$$ holders. When the loot is out, they make cute Christmas tree ornaments too.
What ‘cha need:
- white craft felt (leftover from Snowboard Accident Santa)
- DMC perle cotton, in red and green
- DMC chenille needle
- the PDF of my pattern
- scissors
Step 1:
Print the PDF and cut out the pattern.
Use the lower part of the pattern to cut out a rectangle, as shown.
Step 2:
Using the font on the pattern as a guide, stitch on lettering to the FRONT of the cardholder. A little embellishment in the corner–using French knots for berries and detached chain stitches for leaves–is a nice touch.
Step 3:
Next, position the rectangle on the back of the tag and blanket stitch around, keeping its width at 1/4″.
Tuck the stash in the back pocket, and thread a bit of perle cotton to the top of the tag to hang on the tree, if desired.
