I was 19. I was home the summer after my freshman year of college, and I decided I needed to bake...I went to my parent's kitchen, noted all the ingredients I'd need, and found them all...a four year old box of baking soda, a near empty bottle of imitation vanilla, a tin of grated nutmeg from the seventies. I mixed my batter, and baked the cookies...
It was a disaster.
So, I dried my tears, and went to grocery store and bought all new pantry staples... and I baked again. And they were amazing. My entire family flipped out. The results, we deduced?
Real vanilla extract. I'm convinced. And I'll never go back.
And now, with this how to from Chocolate and Zucchini, I'ma rock my own. You should too.
