I was 19. I was home the summer after my freshman year of college, and I decided I needed to bake…I went to my parent’s kitchen, noted all the ingredients I’d need, and found them all…a four year old box of baking soda, a near empty bottle of imitation vanilla, a tin of grated nutmeg from the seventies. I mixed my batter, and baked the cookies…
It was a disaster.
So, I dried my tears, and went to grocery store and bought all new pantry staples… and I baked again. And they were amazing. My entire family flipped out. The results, we deduced?
