GENIUS: How to Turn a Paper Plate into a Basket

by on May 16, 2014

It’s Always Autumn

This is another one of those smack-my-forehead, why-didn’t-I-think-of-that deals. A paper plate turned basket?? Yeah, it’s perfect for when we take treats into the office or give them as a thank-you gift to teacher, but they would also be great for backyard BBQs for serving chips & such. There isn’t much to them; just four cuts and some folds.

The thing that takes the baskets to the next level is trussing them up baker’s twine. If using them as serving baskets, I’d probably stop here, but for gift-giving, I’d tie the basket up like this and add a tag (and, yes, it was made at Christmastime): A paper plate has been folded and fastened with twine to create a small gift basket for baked goods. It’s Always Autumn For the entire how to, visit with Autumn at It’s Always Autumn.
