Marie Darby tells us how to make these absolutely wonderful photo lampshades. The supplies she uses are really basic and readily available, if we don't have them all on hand already. Check 'em out:

  • lampshade/s, simple in shape
  • glue, hot or otherwise
  • vellum, clear or not
  • craft knife or scissors, pencil & ruler
  • photos and photo editor; Marie used Picasa for her collage lamp and also Picnik for the tall lamp pictured below.

What an awesome idea! I'm big on family pictures as decor in our home. Since only our son and his family live close by it's the only way to feel surrounded by those I love. I am so putting vellum on my shopping list.

Great ideas, EJ!!!

How beautiful, these wopuld make such wonderful gifts. You could do one for newly-weds using pictures from their ceremony or courtship. How about new baby, with fun animals or angels to watch over sleeping baby. As a gift to a grandparent with picturesof all the grandkids. The possiablities are endless...Thanks for the inspiration.
