Architectural student Andrés Moreno has a lamp collection entitled, 'Lamparas Caseus', which is Latin for Cheese Lamps. Although they're made of MDF and not baby Swiss, the name is still appropriate. DIYable? I’d bet my freshly-grated-Parmesan-loving behind on it. Spotted at Designboom.

THIS WOULD BE NICE FOR A GIRL TEENAGER FOR HER ROOM.

THIS WOULD MAKE A BEAUTIFUL LAMP FOR A GIRLS ROOM ALSO.

I would say be careful in the materials you use, such as any paper. You do not want to create a fire hazard.

I love this concept. I was searching the internet and found something similar here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/113748714/tube-lampsimilar

Where online might you find some MDF???  Thanks...

Can i have step by step directions please
Okay. Here's how I would attempt it. I would take medium-density black fiberboard (I've seen it at Target, Dollar Tree, etc.) and cut out four equal-sized squares or rectangles. However big I wanted the lamp to be. I'd cut a fifth piece to fit on the top. Because fiberboard is a little thick, a hole punch may not work. I'd probably trace circles on the fiberboards and cut them out with an Xacto knife. Then I'd glue the four sides together to form a cube, and glue the top piec on. An LED light or Christmas lights inside would do the trick. Glue the lamp on a piece of wood for the base. It might be nice to paste sheets of cellophane or wax paper to the insides of the boards before gluing them together. Paper might make a nice soft filter for the light to glow through. Anyway, that's my idea.

Ok the diy part is easy they have round hole punces you can use for scrap booking in essence its a metal disk spring loaded and you pull back it slams down an ahhhh perfect hole the same could be done with hammer and disk or even exacta knife trace some different size circles. yep im doing it mwaaaa

@Karen--Medium Density Fiberboard. Inexpensive, easy to work with, available at any big box store.

Okay, I'm new to this. What is MDF?

large painted PVC pipe?

Why put stuff on here if you don't want to share the instructions?

Good luck with the poster board and hole punches. That will work for the edges, but how are you going to do the holes in the center? MDF seems the way to go.

If you didn't want to do the lamp kit.  A dowel with Christmas lights wrapped around it would work.  Just feed the plug through a hole you can drill at the bottom of one of the sides.

Congrads. you did a very good job hope you recieved an A.

Ummm... I think this was meant to inspire you to DIY.  This person is an Architectural student who made these, and the person who posted this says they are DIY-able.  So, you all will just have to put your brains to work if you want to replicate it. *shrug*  Imagine that.

These can be made cheaply with poster board and various  sizes of hole punches.

How do you make these!!

so how do you diy these lamps? I don't see any directions. thanks.
