Roundup: Really Striped Walls and Ceilings

created at: 05/08/2012
The commitment of some to indulge in their love of stripes is nothing less than remarkable. Seriously, prepping a room with tape for a regular paint job is a pain. But prepping a room--let alone a ceiling--to paint it in a striped motif, that deserves a round of applause. From vibrant to soothing, there's something for everyone in this roundup.

Too Halloween-y? Elle Decor doesn't think so.

A unique combo of colors that seem to work from Antweak.

I don't think prisoners still wear stripes, do they? Nevertheless, this bathroom from A Cup of Jo reminds me of such.

Bathrooms seem to be a good place to indulge a love of bold stripes. (Maybe because it's the room we spend the least time in?) From Ooh-food's photostream

This example from The Inspired Room are stripes I could live with. You?

From Decor8, these stripes have a soothing effect as well, which is probably why I like them.

And now for the ceilings......

How about waking up to pink and white stripes every morning? From JWS via House of Turquoise.

Although vibrant, I really like this ceiling. Probably because of all the monochrome going on down below. Plus it reminds me of a circus. Less the creepy clowns. Via Viva Cindy.

And for the pièce de résistance this space from Design a Room. Spending any length of time in this room would make me dizzy. And probably nauseous.

I like these...My kitchen is paneled and we painted them in different colors...Mine reminded me of a circus tent...

I love the idea of solid walls and a striped ceiling. Filing in my "to be done if I ever get a house" drawer.
