Roundup:12 DIY Pot Holder and Hot Pad Projects

by on Aug 14, 2012

Let’s just ignore the fact that it is still 113 degrees where I live and pretend that I am gearing up for heavy use of my oven and stove in the cooler months ahead (please, please say there are cooler months ahead…).  It would stand to reason that with all that baking and pot-stirring, I’ll probably be using my favorite oven mitts to help me do the job without any injury.  I’ve rounded up 12 of my favorite oven mitt and hot pad sewing projects to get me in the baking state of mind.
While there are many non-sewing trivet ideas out there, I have found you can’t really wrap cork around a hot Pyrex dish.  Therefore, I stick to the fabric variety around my place for its multi-purpose use.
