Roundup: 8 Easy DIY Projects to Make Valentine’s Day Special

by on Feb 2, 2012

Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching, and often times we are all so exhausted from the winter holidays that we neglect the holiday of love.  This year I decided to decorate a bit for my kids’ sake, but I have to admit I’ve fully enjoyed having some love-filled reminders around the house.  We’ve kept things simple, like the fuzzy ball garland by Anna at Noodle-head, above, and I’ve rounded up a few more simple and endearing projects for a sweet Valentine’s Day.

Keep your needle and embroidery floss out, just in case you feel like leaving a little stitched love note for someone special.  This p.s. i love you is made to look like it is on lined paper and takes me back to 7th grade, as much as I hate to admit that…

I’m really hoping someone notices how much I love this whole “print on a goodie bag” notion and actually gives me one filled with chocolate chip cookies.  I love how romantic the design is on this one by Twig and Thistle.

I absolutely love this pillow set by Creature Comforts.  This is a no-sew pillow project that is sure to get an “awwwww” response!

Although this project, from Oh Happy Day, was done for a birthday, I think that on a romantic scale it would score a perfect 10 if your special someone received a postcard poster piece from you, one day at a time, for Valentine’s Day.  If I did it, I’d have to say something like “I’m so glad we got stuck waiting for our clothes at the laundromat and we had to talk” or something.  Ha!

I hope you’ve been inspired to take Valentine’s Day up a notch this year!
