Turn a Ladder-Back Chair into a Bathroom Shelf

A flea market find is turned into a ladder bathroom shelf in 5 easy steps. (Note the cheeky faucet handles on top.) A little too 'cute'? Maybe, but I'm kinda grooving on its simple ingenuity.

Here are the supplies we'd need to make one:

  • Ladder-back chair
  • Saw
  • Paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Screws
  • Screw driver
  • Faucet handles
  • Bumper pads

Thanks Elsea Jane. Can you tell I hate waste?

Hey Mom, I like your ideas for the other half of the chair. Very clever!

DesigningMom on Dec 14, 2010:

Maven, what a neat idea. Again, meaning my idea for a recent half chair idea shared, I can see the other half of this upside down chair in a closet on the other side of the wall to use as a shelf and the legs as "hooks" to use for hanging jeans you'll be wearing again. I mean everyone wears their jeans more than once before laundering, yes?

Another thought, place it to the side of this one and use it for hanging your robe and/or to dry the towel you just dried off with.

Love it! I think a pair of these side by side will be a great thing for the big bath re-do.
