Make These! Printable Treat Bag Toppers for Your Halloween Candy

With October upon us, now’s the time to start thinking all things Halloween. And you know what springs to mind for me as the 31st draws near? All that sweet candy of course!

And while I sometimes leave my lollies in their store bought wrapping, it’s much more fun seeing the faces of trick or treaters when I dole out little bundles of treats specially packaged for the occasion. Which is where these treat bag toppers come into play! Use this free printable to package up your candy and wow the kiddos who come knocking at your door this Halloween.

Materials

  • Printable Halloween treat bag toppers
  • White cardstock
  • Bone folder
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Craft knife
  • Stapler
  • Cellophane treat bags (the file is designed to fit bags that are 12cm/4.75 inches wide, but you can scale it to size)
  • Candy!

Step

Print the Halloween treat bag toppers onto white card. 

With a ruler and bone folder, score across the centre of each treat bag topper where it says ‘fold here’.

Important note: When scoring, take care to avoid scoring across the ears on the black cat and bat treat bag toppers.

Step

Cut out each of the treat bag toppers with a pair of scissors.

Step

Using a craft knife, cut along the white ‘v’ lines that mark out the ears on the cat and bat treat bag toppers.

Step

Fold each treat bag topper along the line you scored in Step 1. When you fold the cat and bat treat bag toppers, the ears should stick up as shown below.

Step

Fill your cello bag with your favourite treats.

Step

Place a treat bag topper over the open end of each cello bag and staple shut.

And that’s all there is to it! As well as being fun for trick or treaters, these little parcels would make great favours for your guests if you’re having a Halloween party this year.
