I love summer cocktails; they bring to mind all sorts of happy memories like summer parties, poolside holidays and evenings out on rooftop bars. Truth be told, I love summer drinks so much that I have a list of recipes longer than my arm because I just can't stop saving them to my Pinterest boards! Call it an addiction if you will, but my collection comes in very handy on a warm weekend and especially at parties. :)
When I think of summer, one of the first things that comes to mind is the refreshing fruit that's in season at this time of year. Which isn't surprising I guess. After all they have so much going for them - they're simply scrumptious, they're fab in a summer cocktail, and they're so brightly coloured that they make great party motifs too!
I know I say this a lot (I think I've mentioned it at least two times on Curbly before), but that's only because it's true; wall art is SO easy to DIY that there's really no excuse not to have a go at making your own.
I was at the airport the other day waiting for my bag to come out of the carousel and after what seemed like ages, I finally spied my little black suitcase. Just as I was going to grab it, someone else picked it up.
My first thought was a territorial 'get your hands off my bag!' (don't worry, I didn't say it out loud. And really, why I was being so protective of my dirty laundry is beyond me).
My second thought (after I'd hurriedly retrieved my bag) was a silent admission that my black wheeled case looked just like every other black wheeled case circling around that carousel.
I think we can all agree that Father's Day wouldn't be Father's Day without us sneaking in a good dad joke or two. After all, we can't let our dads have all the 'pun' now can we? (haha, see what I did there?).
Father's day is coming up fast (can you believe it's already that time of year?), and in addition to spoiling your dad with his favourite things, it's always nice to let him know how much you care about him with a heartfelt, handwritten note right?
And while that might sound all kinds of mushy, these cards aren't just for the sentimental types; there are so many cards out there to buy (or DIY) that are cheeky, sassy and just plain awesome to boot. Basically, there's a card for every dad so get scrolling to check out some of my favourites below!
Over the years, I've managed to gather many good, free fonts that I've hoarded away in my laptop like squirrels hoard nuts. Truth be told, I've got a bit of a font addiction and I'm not ashamed to admit it - after all, they're so useful, how can I resist?
If you want to expand your font collection, click through for some of my favourites. Trust me, whether you design a little, a lot or almost never, you'll find these come in handy regardless - and best of all, they're free!
When I first started exploring the world of DIY, I decorated some spice jars in the hopes of introducing just a small amount of order into my otherwise unlabelled, disorganised and chaotic kitchen.
Fast forward two years later and the spice jars have stood the test of time, but sadly I can't say the same about my good intentions to re-organise my kitchen. All the other items in my pantry remain unlabelled and my spice jars lie strewn all over the kitchen counter along with the other condiments that vye for precious bench space - eek!
Still stuck on what to get your mom for Mother's Day? Not to worry, I've got a whole swag of beautiful gifts that you can handmake in the space of a day (most in under an hour) that'll leave your mom feeling super spoiled. In fact these projects are so lovely she probably won't even realise they're DIY! Get ready for some fun Saturday crafting in preparation for Sunday's festivities...
My mum doesn't have a huge a sweet tooth, but my sister-in-law (who's also a mum) loves sugar in a big way, so pretty candy wrappers come in very handy when spoiling her on Mother's Day.
