11 Ways to Decorate with Non-Traditional Christmas Colors

If you’ve been reading my Christmas posts over the last couple of weeks, you’ve probably heard me say that I’m not a big fan of traditional festive colours. But that doesn’t mean I don’t like decorating for the holidays. Far from it in fact – it just means I try to think outside the box when it comes to the colours I use. And after scouting around online it seems I’m not the only one! Read on to see my favourite alternative colour schemes for Christmas.

I love me a little (okay a lot!) of pink so you can see why I’m a big fan of this brightly coloured table setting (via Coco + Kelley).

I’ll admit this might verge into traditional colour territory (what with it being green and all) but it’s such a unique take on Christmas decorating I just had to include it as one of my faves (via Petra Bindel).

Purple, orange and gold makes for the prettiest of Christmas colour combos (via Apartment 34).

Can’t decide which colour to decorate with? Try using little bits of every colour! Pair them all with gold for a light and playful festive scene (via SS Life + Style).

Lately, I’ve been really getting into the bold playfulness of primary colours and I love how good they look in these Christmas decorations (via Etsy UK).

I’ve become a firm believer that there should be more black in Christmas decorating. Do I sound morbid? But just look at how striking it can be! (via Rue Mag).

Try combining pastel blues with bright gold, orange and green for a summery, almost beachy feel (via Planning Pretty).

Not a fan of colour? Go completely minimal instead and use just black and white to decorate. The end result is stunningly elegant (via Annaleena Shop).
