In theory this sounds great. Take old wine barrels, whiskey barrels or Scotch casks, disassemble them, flatten them out and use them for flooring. I’m a tad bit skeptical that you can really get these things to flatten out. A little humid weather and you may end up with a fun house floor. Fontenay is a company built around re-building floors using the discarded barrels. Reusing for wine makes icky wine.
These floors can look mighty fine in the right room. Bravo to Fontenay for recycling this wood.
