How To Make Easy Snow Ice Cream

by on Feb 16, 2010

Alas, more snow. Can February be any longer??? What to do with all this snow, and feeling all Jack Nicholson (The Shining)? One tasty little distraction would be to run outside, gather up some snow and whip up some, almost free, snow ice cream. With all the desserts that are baked around here, a little refreshing ice cream on the side will round out a hot apple crisp or double, nay triple, fudge brownie.

All you need:

  • 4 cups of fresh, clean snow
  • 1/2 cup of milk or half and half
  • 1/4 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 t. vanilla
  • favorite toppings like hot fudge, peanuts or sprinkles

Here’s what you do for 30 minutes of fun:

1. Mix milk or half and half with sugar in a bowl until sugar is dissolved

2. Add in 1/4 t. vanilla

3. Add snow into mixing  bowl, mixing until everything smooths out into a soft ice cream consistency

4. Add to a hot, cinnamony, apple crisp or brownie
