Pottery barn has this gorgeous Driftwood Lamp $529.99 on sale (it’s down from $799.) but that is still rather a heap o’cash.
If you’ve got some time (about two months) to fully dry out your materiel’s you could attempt your own version with twigs…
or even driftwood if you’re lucky enough to be near a large body of water. BHG has a how-to to help you along
You’ll need:
- 15-20 twigs (bundle with twine to keep them relatively straight and let dry for a month or two before using)
- Three rubber bands
- Threaded metal rod
- Twine
- Crafts glue
- Scissors
- Pruner or utility knife
- Wood round with precut hole in center
- Electrical lamp kit
- Felt pads or plastic “buttons”
- Lampshade
Head on over to BHG for
the skinny. There’s good advice about curing the wood in a bleach
solution (to get rid of little bug friends) in the comments section.
