by on Sep 30, 2021

It’s officially fall. Can you believe it? Saying good-bye to the hot sunny days and cocktails on the patio is enough to make anyone a bit bummed. So, why not treat yourself to a bunch of flowers to create some lovely bouquets to brighten the mood, all the while using the same materials!  The best part is, you don’t have to be a professional florist or even have a lot of experience in flower arranging. It’s about exploring and discovering new avenues of creativity step by step, while having fun of course!

  • Variety of greenery, fillers and flowers (your nearest floral shop should have a selection of seasonal options – don’t be afraid to ask for help and suggestions!) Or, head to the woods and gather your own
  • Floral sheers or scissors
  • Vases (small, medium and large)

Step

For each arrangement, you will always begin with the greenery. Starting with the largest vase, simply create the initial shape of what the arrangement will look like using the greenery of your choice.

Place your fillers for added color and texture, always thinking about the shape of your arrangement at hand.

Place your flowers in the vase as you desire. This might take a few minutes rearranging things until you feel satisfied. For the largest vase, go big! Don’t hold back, feel free to use all the flowers you selected.

Once you are satisfied with the placement so far, go back in and add greenery or fillers where needed. This will allow the bouquet to look full and complete.

Now, try it a different way!

Simply repeat steps 1-4 for each arrangement, keeping in mind that you will be using more or less of the greenery, fillers and flowers depending on the size of your vase. For the smaller vase, stick to one flower to keep it minimal and simple.

For the medium sized vase, try sticking to one color of 2-3 flowers or even berries. The options are truly endless! With enough practice, you’ll start to get the hang of it in no time.
