How to Make a Wintery Wonderland Wreath

by on Nov 24, 2015

One of the things I look forward to each season is creating a new wreath for our home. Not only is it a fun and festive project to do, but it makes for some really easy holiday decor! The style options are endless and limitless. Here in Canada, everything is covered in a blanket of white, shimmery snow. It’s truly a magical time of year and I really wanted to emulate that in my decor, so I decided to make a wintery wonderland wreath.

Materials

  • 24″ White Wreath
  • Miniture trees, cars, stars or other little objects you desire
  • Pom Pom Garland (optional)
  • Hot glue gun

Tuck and wrap your pom pom garland throughout the wreath. This will add texture and give the wreath more dimension.

First plan or visualize where you would like lay out all the elements on your wreath. Play around for a bit! When you are ready, begin glueing your pieces to the wreath starting with the trees.

Continue glueing all your elements to the wreath, dispersing them evenly throughout. I even played around with a little wooden holiday message in the center, but in the end decided I liked it without.

I also tucked in branches throughout the wreath to add more texture and contrast. I love how the branches reach out in a sculptural way, making my wreath look more life-like by tying in all the trees.

Once everything is placed in their proper spots and dried completely, you can simply hang to enjoy!

It’s so simple, right? I am so happy with how this wreath turned out this year. I can hang it on our front door, over the fireplace or even on the wall as a piece of art. It’s a little scene that tells a Christmas story for all my family and friends to enjoy.

  1. I love the idea of this project. but I can’t see the wreath or the pictures because of the white on white 🙁

  2. This would have been so much better if you had a dark background for the instructional photos, like the one you used to show the finished product. White on white is nearly impossible to see.
