I’ve always loved to travel, and I’ve started to hone my packing skills over the years. So now I have a list of items that I wouldn’t dare leave home without. And I’m sharing them with you today! Keep reading to check ’em out. Â Â
1. Wrap Scrarf – I always bring a light but large wrap scarf that can be worn as a blanket on the plane or as a fashion statement on a chilly night. Get this one here. $12
Â
2. Hanging Dopp Kit – I don’t know how I ever survived without one. They are so handy… just hang it on the back of the bathroom door while you’re getting ready each morning. Buy this one here. $27Â
Â
3. Watch – I don’t wear a watch on a daily basis, but I always remember to wear it on the plane so I can easily figure out how many more hours left until vacation starts. I have a rose gold one from Kate Spade, but I’m loving this one too. $195
Â
4. Baggu Bag – These are invaluable when you’re traveling. They fold up into tiny little pouches so they barely take up any space, but they are perfect beach bags (or as overflow luggage if you buy too many souvenirs!). Get yours here. $12+
Â
5. Neck Pillow – If you have a long flight, you’ll be happy you brought one of these. And I’ve discovered that they make great beach pillows too! If you’re concerned about space, you might consider an inflatable version. Get this one here. $20
6. Camera – I often bring my larger Nikon DSLR, but I’m loving these more compact options that are available these days. They have more functionality than a point and shoot, without the bulk of a large DSLR. Get this one here. $850
Â
7. Travel Journal – I’m a list person, so I’m partial to this type of journal… but anything with lined paper will do! Check out this one here. $13
8. Tablet – I have an iPad Mini that I love for travel because I can load it up with a variety of Kindle books, magazines and games. What a space saver! Check them out here. $269+Â
Â
9. Small Dry Bag – Even if you’re not the adventurous type, these are invaluable in a variety of different situations. They’re great to bring to the beach to protect your phone from water and sand, on a stand-up paddleboard, in a canoe, etc. Buy this one here. $22
Â
10. Weekend Bag – If you’re going somewhere for, well, the weekend – consider one of these smaller but super versatile weekend bags with lots of pockets and a shoulder strap. I have one that I bought at West Elm many years ago, and I use it all the time. Buy this one here. $95

I second the dry bag. I take one with me on every trip, whether I plan to get “adventurous” or not. They only weigh a few grams, and really come in handy for organization.
