How to Shape a Book

by on Jun 24, 2009

That post title isn’t nearly as clever as this tutorial, but it’s kind of hard to describe. The results, however, speak for themselves. Basically, Sheila uses old paperbacks as a medium for sculpture. To make one of our own, we’ll need….

  • an old paperback
  • a template of your desired shape
  • an exacto knife
  • butterfly clips
  • a glue stick
  • ‘snot dots’ (aka Zots or their equivalent)
  • ink or paint for coloring the books edges, plus something to apply it with
  • decoration or embellishments of your choosing

For the entire tute, head on over to Cheeky Magpie. And if apples don’t turn you on, check out this pumpkin Sheila made for Halloween.

Pages from a book that have been cut and shaped to form a pumpkin.
