The Coil Candle

by on Oct 4, 2007

I’ve never seen this type of candle before, and although it might be a little too ‘Paul Revere’ for some, it’s still an interesting–and apparently old–concept. It’s made of a rope of beeswax that is fed through a spring-loaded clip. You can feed up to 3 inches of the wax through the clip, which burns up to an hour and then self-extinguishes when the flame reaches the clip. Available through Plow & Hearth, the holder and an 80 hour candle coil will set you back 35 bucks. Coil refills are also available for $20.
