How high would you live?

by on Jun 6, 2007

Last night a question arose. How high is too high for a residential space? Or is there no such thing as ‘too high’? And, if you were shopping for such a lofty space, what altitude would you choose? A floor high enough not to hear the traffic below but not too high to prevent acrophobics from dropping by?

The reason for this question is prompted by the Chicago Spire. At 150 stories stretching to 2000 feet, it would be the tallest building in North America, and will be the tallest all-residential building in world.

Tall swirly skyscraper next to other skyscrapers by body of water.
