Before and After: 1980’s Kitchen Makeover

Hooked on Houses

Carolyn described her 1980’s kitchen “yucky.” It’s certainly far from that now. Confined to a tight budget, she and her husband did all the work themselves except for the installation of the countertops. The DIY mostly happened in the evening when their young children were in bed. It was then they tackled the cabinets, tile backsplash, flooring, and more. The result of their dedication paid off big time. Take a look at the kitchen now:

  1. That breakfast counter makes all the difference in the world! Looks fantastic!

  2. Being a young handyman I enjoy working in a retro environment. I’d love to work on a project like this. And yes, the breakfast counter is a really special one.

  3. I am in love with this floor, and the overall look.  But, I am  SO SICK of subway tile.  Can it just die already?
