by on Jul 7, 2011

Everyone loves a good makeover. We love seeing shabby, worn furniture transformed, or an entire room refreshed and brought back to life. So, what’s better than a good makeover? One that sticks to the principles of creative reuse and recycling, limits waste, and doesn’t costs buckets of money.

This July, we’re focusing on all things thrifty, recycle-y, and makeover-y. To kick it off, here’s a collection of not-so-awesome things becoming awesome-r other things:

This shabby door becomes a fully functioning (and safe) child’s bed.

Repurposing ideas to explore to make your home beautiful.

A nightstand becomes a snuggly dog bed.

The front of an illuminated steeple house at twilight.

A church into a home? Definitely qualifies.

A mason jar full of nails and other assorted trinkets next to a hammer on a blue shelf.

Miki rocks out a sandwich station from an old drawer…

Some green and red cans are placed above the washing machine.

…and Melanie uses old drawers for some super clever laundry room storage.

Clever repurposing ideas.

A head- and footboard set becomes a luxurious bench.

Floral picture in the frame.

A thrift store frame can be amazing fodder for a jewelry organizer.

Transform your old furniture by giving a good makeover.

And lastly, Meg turned an old TV stand into a swanky bar.
