February is bedroom month here at Curbly and what could be more appropriate than a roundup of fabulous quilts? If you've got a soft spot for textiles, prepare to be delighted!
Although I've never* quilted before in my life, I am absolutely obsessed with quilts. My mother-in-law is a master quilter, whose talent I am fortunate enough to benefit from. I've been inspired by her creations over the years, enough to decide that this year I'm going to learn how to quilt! My desire to learn this craft only grows stronger when I see incredible quilts like these from Sherri Lynn Wood aka DaintyTime.
Sherri has been quilting for over 20 years and holds masters degress in both Fine Arts (sculpture) and Theological Studies. This wide educational background seems to shine through in her abstract, freeform quilts. My favorite, of course, is her Mod-Mood Quilt (pictured above) which she completed this past November. Everything about it makes me happy in ways I can't even describe!
Are you feeling inspired and delighted yet? If so, then you'll definitely want to check out more of Sherri's work on her blog DaintyTime. (You can also purchase quilts through her Etsy shop of the same name.)
So, do we have any quilters in the house? When did you start quilting and what inspired you? Where do you find inspiration for your craft now? I'd love to know your stories, so share in the comments!
*Technically, I made some quilt blocks in the 4th grade, but that doesn't count.
