How-To: Mod Cork and Felt Coaster Set

by on Nov 23, 2010

It’s my belief that you can never have too many coasters.  Never ever.  A coaster for every drink and every surface; coasters for everybody!  Aside from being the most functional little squares in existence, they also make pretty great gifts.  If you’re in need of a DIY gift idea (or just have a coaster habit like me), consider making a set of these mod cork and felt coasters.

These cool little surface protectors are really inexpensive and shouldn’t take more than an hour or two (tops) to complete.  Plus, the design possibilities are virtually endless, limited only by your imagination – and cutting skills.

For this project, you’ll need:

  • 8×11 sheets of felt in multiple colors
  • scissors
  • xacto knife
  • fabric glue
  • pen
  • ruler
  • cutting mat
  • thin sheets of cork

Cork at the ready?  Great.  Head on over to Avie Designs to see how everything comes together!
