From Drab and Dated to Classic and Fresh: One Kitchen’s Makeover Journey

by on Oct 17, 2013

Beautiful Protest

When Joy moved into her home in 2010, the kitchen looked a little something like the above photo (minus the pixelation — dang real estate listing photos!). It was pretty dated and bland and did not match her style in the least.

A kitchen with a family in it is taped ready to be painted, there is a blue ladder in the entryway.Beautiful Protest

Soon after moving in, she quickly set to work replacing the flooring in the kitchen and painting the walls, doing as much as possible to improve the space without really hitting it with a major makeover.

Fast forward to 2013 and here’s what the space looks like now:

Fresh, clean, and pretty much timeless, this kitchen is going to look gorgeous for a long, long time! Read all about this kitchen makeover on Joy’s blog Beautiful Protest (and check out her source list and budget breakdown right here).

P.S. Take a peek at her dining room makeover we featured a while back as well!

  1. Your kitchen looks great!   I am getting ready to do my kitchen and was wondering what the name of the  white color you used to paint your cabinets with?  Did you use satin Advance by Benjamin Moore?

    Thanks for sharing.
