How To: Make Sculptural Origami Pyramid Wall Art!

by on Jan 24, 2013

I really love the look and inherent texture of sculptural wall art; I feel like it adds a unique energy to the room you just don’t get with your typical 2D fare. If you’re looking to add a unique “wow” factor to an entryway, guest room, or anywhere in your home for that matter, check out this clever DIY decor project from Rue Magazine!

You’ll need some paper, patience, and a few viewings of this video before you get going. After that, it’s all about busting out as many origami pyramids as your paper-folding-fingers can handle. While the spread (pg. 48-49 if you want to take a peek) in the February issue of Rue Magazine doesn’t include a step-by-step, I imagine the finished pyramids are attached with double stick tape (like this poster tape or this mounting tape, both from 3M/Scotch).

All in all, it’s a pretty great bang for your buck. What do you think, Curbliers?
