Make It: A Simple Outdoor Dining Table on the Cheap!

by on Jun 20, 2011

Outdoor dining season is upon us and if your setup is anything like mine (aka nonexistent) or you’d just like to have some fresh outdoor decor, here’s a simple DIY project that’ll have you hosting summer soirées in no time.

This outdoor dining table comes courtesy of Ana White, a blogger and avid builder of, well, just about everything!  It’s part of her “simple modern outdoor collection” of DIY projects, which also includes stackable chairs, benches, and a sectional amongst other things.  Her site is truly a treasure trove of great DIY projects, so be sure to check it out.

Meanwhile, let’s see what kind of shopping list we’ll need for the table:

  • 5 – 12′ – 1×4 Boards (Cut Tabletop Boards from these)
  • 5 – 8′ – 1×4 (Supports and Aprons)
  • 1 – 12′ 2×4
  • 1 1/4″ Screws
  • 2″ Screws
  • 2 1/2″ Screws
  • Wood Glue
  • Wood Filler
  • Finishing Supplies

Once you’re all set and ready to tackle this simple outdoor table, head on over to Ana-White.com for the full tutorial!

P.S. Depending on the kind of wood you get, this project should only set you back between $50-$100.  Not too shabby, right?
