Our DIY Paver Stone Project: Part 3

I spent the last three weeks digging, hauling, cutting, and oftentimes cursing our backyard into shape with a new patio and walkway. In this installment of the series, I get started on the actual demolition and construction. Come follow my progress on the HouseLogic.com blog!

Recycled Concrete Planter Wall

Our hilarious leftover concrete pile

As you may know, I recently re-did our backyward walkway, taking out (what felt like) a ton of concrete, and replacing it with paver stones (here's the blog post series on that, if you'd like to follow along).

As a little side project, we had to figure out what to do with all the leftover concrete. We had a pile of it that was about 3 feet in diameter and 4 feet tall, in assorted shapes and sizes, behind the garage. Of course, we could've...

Our DIY Paver Stone Project: Part 2

Over the last two weeks, I've been making-over our mildly pathetic back yard with a brand new paver stone walkway and patio. In this part of the series, I'll show you how I planned the whole thing out (including a sweet 3D rendering), and how much I spent on materials in the first (of several) shopping trips.

It's all over on the HouseLogic blog, and I think you'll be really surprised to hear how I my costs under control. Go check it out!

Our DIY Paver Stone Walkway: Part 1

by Bruno Bornsztein

Getting a little help with my DIY paver stone walkway project

This summer, I'm really excited because I'm getting a chance to completely re-do our back yard walkway. With sponsorship from the nice folks at HouseLogic.com, I'm going to tear out our old, cracked, incomplete concrete walk, and replace it with a brand new paver stone one.

I'm chronicling my (mis)adventures in a series of guest posts over at the HouseLogic.com blog, and the first one went up today. In it, I walk you through what's wrong with our current walkway (um, everything?) and give you an idea how I plan to fix it. I hope you'll follow along with me as I attempt this not-so-simple DIY project; I'll be sharing all my experiences, costs, and lessons learned.
