I'm always skeptical of "hacks" I see on the internet. Sometimes techniques touted as life hacks can be - well... hacky! On the flip side, we've tested a few hacks here on Curbly before with surprising success. I've seen these two laundry hacks pass through my media feeds a few times, and decided to finally give in and try them out myself. Both are supposed to optimize your dryer. Do they work? I have three little girls, two of which are very good at distributing toys, clothes, and books all over the house. After too many days of me chasing after them and cleaning up their messes, it was time to put them in charge of pulling some of the weight around the house. My sanity depended on it.

Me? I'm somewhere in between. A clean house makes me feel calm and unburdened, but I don't let keeping it clean become an all-consuming obsession.
