Living in a rental means I'm stuck with a few things I don't like, including vertical blinds, ugly ceiling fans and popcorn ceiling. While some things are more difficult to swap out (whether you're renting or just on a budget), it doesn't have to completely limit you. Upgrade a fan or ceiling lamp with a simple beaded fan pull to replace an ugly, boring chain in about 10 minutes.

Beaded Drawer Pulls...Do we like these?

Dubbed the Bollywood Beauties Collection, these beaded drawer pulls from Atlas Homewares may look expensive, but in the world of fancy knobs, they aren't ($9.20 for the large size, $8.30 for the small). With some string, wire, beads, adhesive and some ugly old pulls they could even be DIYable. But I can't decide if I like them enough to go through the effort. How about you? Garland isn’t just for holidays anymore. Here’s a very easy, fast and economical way to make custom-made decorative garland.

What I used.

24 gauge beading wire

Wire cutter

Large and small glass beads (The thing to keep in mind for this project is that the holes in your beads have to be large enough to accommodate TWO widths of your wire.)
