I love a good interactive greeting card and scratch-off cards are amongst my favourites. It's so much fun watching the suspense and surprise on your loved one's face when they get a card that asks them to scratch off key parts to reveal a gift; I think it speaks to the little kid in all of us don't you? :)
82 Things To Do With Your Boo on Valentine's Day (That Don't Involve Dinner Reservations)
Valentine's Day is almost here! The older I get, the more sentimental I become - meaning I really enjoy February 14th. I understand that it's a silly holiday, but it feels sillier to hate on a holiday that's all about love. That being said, I don't think it's necessary to spend a gross amount of money on dinner, flowers, and gifts in order to have a great time with your partner. The whole fancy dinner thing is a little played out. There are far better ways to celebrate love and make memories with your significant other. Here are 82 different date ideas that don't involve making last-minute dinner reservations.
With Valentine's Day just around the corner, it's time to start making plans. Nothing screams Valentine's Day quite like conversation hearts. They're colorful, they're graphic, and they say something (sorta) meaningful in ten characters or less. But, they taste kinda icky, so this year, I'm combing the classic conversation heart with something we all actually want to eat: chocolate.

Happy February to all! I still catch myself asking what the date is because I feel like January just happened in a blink of an eye - am I right? Which basically means Valentine's day is going to be here in no time! And I'm super pumped about it this year because we are celebrating a very special evening with all my gal pals for a Boho Valentine's night out! To me, this holiday is meant to really appreciate the ones you love. And guys, that...

Valentine's Day is just around the corner, which means it's time to think about Valentine's Day cards. Hand made, of course. These 10 options take the guesswork out of the undertaking. Super clever, super easy, super adorbs, they're sure to win a few hearts.
1. First we'll start with the kiddos. For their school mates, it doesn't get much better than this fishbowl card from Bliss Bloom Blog. And, yes, Bliss Bloom offers a free download for the bowl and text part.
2. Rolls of Smarties (or, if you're Canadian, Rockets candies), some washi tape and this free download from 733 Blog and you're ready to go to make these sweet sentiments:
3. These washi tape cards from A Step in the Journey couldn't be cuter or easier to make.
4. Speaking of washi tape, this idea from No Biggie would take seconds to whip out.
5. We're suckers for googlie eyes around here, so these google-eyed-in-love hearts from Paper Source won ours. Hearts that is, not google eyes.
6. If you have a some stamps and ink pad--or a steady hand--and some old paint chips, these Valentine's Day cards would be PERFECT for your fellow fan of Curbly or DIY in general. The idea comes from Jodi Kahn picked up at Country Living.
7. This next idea comes from Real Simple, and although it features a King of Hearts playing card, the idea could use other cards as well, with a little tweaking, of course. Queen of Hearts = "Queen of My Heart". Ace of Hearts = "You're Aces". Two of any cards = "We're 2 of a Kind". You get the idea.
8. A red balloon heart used to make a Valentine's Day card?? You had us at "balloon". Visit A Pretty Cool Life for all the details.
9. These clothespin love arrows aren't traditional Valentines, but imagine them clipped to unexpected places Valentine's morning! On a vanity mirror, a lampshade, on the edge of your sweetie's coffee cup...just about anywhere you'd like to share the love. Darling!! I Gotta Create tells us how to make them.
10. And, finally this last minute, no excuses Valentine from Botanical Paper Works. Grab some colorful paper, cut out a heart, write a sweet message on it and slip it into a dinner fork. Love!

I love working with flowers. Fresh or fake, they just make me happier. While not all of us have a green thumb (I am not declaring I do as I am still struggling to keep my plants alive), paper flowers are the easiest way to enjoy some new blooms and keep them around far longer than a few days. And you can make this version in a matter of minutes! So hunker down with that hot glue gun and let's get to work.
A bunch of years ago I wrote a roundup of 20+ Inexpensive DIY Gift Baskets Ideas We Love, and apparently, you love them too, because the article still gets plenty of viewing action. Although we STILL love those ideas, we thought it might be time to expand on the idea. As mentioned in the original post, gift baskets are great to receive, but giving them can be surprisingly expensive. Pick a basket, add a little of this and a little of that,...
Every year, right around the holidays, I go into a (brief) panic about what kind of gift to buy or DIY for my husband, brother, dad, etc. I love making gifts for them whenever I can, but it can be difficult to come up with a super awesome DIY idea that men will actually like / want to use. So, I'm starting the hunt for ideas early this year and am sharing my favorite DIY gifts for men for the holidays. Here are 14 awesome DIY gift ideas for...
Not everybody is hand-dipping strawberries in chocolate tomorrow for their sweetie-pies. Mine's not a fan anyway. He'd rather sample PF Chang's Hot and Spicy Menu for Two. "What's that," you ask? It's a selection of dishes such as things like Flaming Pork Wontons--all for $45 now through the February 15, 2015. PF Chang's is only one of 14 restaurants on this list

These heart-shaped hard boiled eggs have been floating around the Internet for a while now, but I was saving them for this very special time of year when going out of your way to make heart-shaped foodstuffs is normal. Aren't you glad I did??
First, Honey Caramel
At this point in my relationship, we're sorta past making a big deal for Valentine's Day. As I look back, we never really did much, but these days, it's simply a reminder that we're a pretty great fit for each other, and that every day feels special. I'm grateful that I don't have show up with gems and jewelry, but can we'll likely just stay in, make a thoughtful dinner together and treat ourselves...perhaps with a bottle of champagne.
Of course, as a crafter, I can't just leave things alone, and it's precisely because there are no expectations that I wanna do something a little extra. So, this year, I'm customizing our celebration bottle with a special message in type.
