I love decorating with paper for the holidays. Not only is it inexpensive, it can make a big impact without too much effort and it's easy to change up, recycle or pack-down once the big day is over.

While I've never been a fan of Halloween, I've always loved the Mexican holiday of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) that takes place from October 31st to November 2nd.

Having grown up thinking of death as a very sombre occasion, I find myself drawn to the beautifully joyous way the deceased are honoured in at this time of year in celebrations full of colour, vibrancy and positivity.

I love Halloween costumes that involve remixing items that you already have in your closet. And I just so happen to have a white dress that works perfectly as the 'base' for a Cleopatra costume. So, I DIYed the accessories (exaggerated jewel collar, crown, cuffs, etc) to take this plain white dress from normal outfit to Cleopatra. Want to see how it all came together?
